A police officer attached to Kimanjo Police Station in Laikipia North Sub-County in Laikipia County has been arrested after he caused grievous bodily harm to his superior on Thursday, August 6.
Police Constable Wesley Cheti assaulted Inspector Joseph Kamitha, the OCS of Kimanjo Police Station, after Kamitha asked him why he had arrested and handcuffed two female minors.
The two 16-year-old girls, who are Form One students at Naibor Secondary School and Kimanjo Secondary School respectively, alleged that Cheti had asked to have sex with them on Wednesday, August 5, but they rejected his advances.
“When the OCS asked him about the girls’ allegations, Cheti attacked his boss by biting Kamitha’s mouth and the left part of his chest area. The OCS was taken to Kimanjo Sub-County Hospital, where he was treated and discharged. He is currently in a fair condition,” says a Thursday 10:30am police report filed under OB No. 07/06/08/2020 at Kimanjo Police Station.
Cheti was arrested and detained at the police post as investigations into the minors’ allegations and the attack on Kamitha continue.
